Nigeria: Govt. commends companies for funding technology fellowships aimed at achieving sustainable development

'Julius Berger, Airtel, Nestle, others commit N20m to NITTP scholarship scheme', 29 Jul 2015:…Julius Berger, Nestle…Airtel, Dufil Foods and Wamco…[have] commit[ed] over N20 million [US$ 100, 000] as scholarship grants to five Nigerians...to undertake...research under the NOTAP-Industry Technology Transfer Fellowship (NITTF), in technology innovation  and competencies tenable in Nigerian universities. Speaking at the launch of the programme…Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI), Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita, commended the companies…She said the collaboration between the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP), and industries is for the purpose of strengthening technology transfer...NOTAP’s Acting Director General, Mr. Dan Azumi Mohammed, said…“This is a very critical event which intends to kick start the much needed practical collaborations between the industry, academia and government toward achieving sustainable national development,”…
