No Justice 10 Years After Abu Ghraib Revelations [Iraq/USA]

…Al Shimari v. CACI is challenging a private military contractor for its role in the abuse of detainees…joining us now is Katherine Gallagher, senior staff attorney at the Center for Constitutional Rights…“What became clear as investigations proceeded, was that some members of the private military contractors, particularly CACI interrogators, really served as ringleaders in the torture and abuse at Abu Ghraib…They were hired to carry out lawful interrogations…but what they instead did was go beyond the bounds of US and international law…This is a case against a US company, headquartered in Virginia, where the lawsuit was filed, that contracted with the US government, conspired with US service members to commit torture in a US-run detention center…So we argue that clearly this is a case that ‘touches and concerns the United States’ and deserves to be heard in a US court…[Also refers to L-3 Titan (part of L-3 Communications), Titan (now L-3)]
