Oil Companies Help Curb HIV/AIDS
Two US oil companies are helping teachers and students in the Republic of the Congo (ROC) learn about the risks of HIV/AIDS and how to avoid the deadly virus, the UN Development Programme (UNDP) announced Monday. Chevron and Nomeco are supporting a project - that UNDP and UNICEF are carrying out in cooperation with the National Programme Against AIDS and the ministry of education - with contributions of more than US $50,000 and dozens of used computers and printers.
