A private-public partnership has actually invented a uniquely Egyptian technology that embeds a CPU into the...wooden table known as the tableyya...This...is one of the many projects now being implemented by the ICT Trust Fund — a partnership between the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT)...the Nazif government announced that it was adopting...the Egyptian Education Initiative (EEI) [which] uses a public-private partnership model to improve education in the country through the effective use of information and communication technologies (ICT)...The first phase will target 820,000 students attending 2,000 schools and more than 300 colleges...One of the trust fund’s top objectives is to use ICT to foster Egypt’s Sustainable Human Development Program (SHDP)...the ICT Trust Fund [also launched] ‘The Illiteracy Eradication CD.’ [developed by]...The Harf Information Technology Company...[companies participating in the Fund’s activities include: Cisco, HP, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Oracle, Siemens, El-Rowad Company]
