Ombudsman monitors women's labour rights in textile firms [Uzbekistan]

Human rights commissioner of Uzbek parliament (Ombudsman) in cooperation with Women's Committee of Uzbekistan, Trade Unions' Federation, Justice Ministry. Labour and Social Welfare Ministry, Health Ministry and General Prosecutor's Office carried out monitoring of labour rights of women in light industry enterprises...the group...surveyed about 500 women...The recommendations included increasing responsibility of heads of enterprises for adherence of standards, rules and norms on labour protection, introduction of modern tools of labour protection, adopt measures on financing of labour protection and targeted use of these resources.
