Panel to examine green impact of Posco project [India]

South Korean steel major Posco’s troubles are likely to continue till the near future, as a high-level committee of the ministry of environment and forests (MoEF) has sought a comprehensive assessment of the environmental impact encompassing all the components of the project [in Orissa] — steel plant, captive power plant, port and infrastructure...The EAC at its next meeting on November 30 will consider review the environmental and coastal regulation zone approval given to the Posco’s captive port at Jatadharmohan creek.
