[PDF] Case study: Brandix Lanka — watering the way [Sri Lanka] [see pg. 11 of vol. 2, week 25]

Given that apparel manufacturing is a relatively water-intensive industry and in light of the water shortages suffered in Sri Lanka, Brandix nominated “water” as their core theme of CSR activity. In addition to adopting best practices in treating and conserving water, Brandix has been involved in an admirable programme of providing water wells or water desalination plants to communities with water shortages. Once this CSR vision and strategy was outlined, Brandix customers and other agencies including GAP Inc., MAST Industries, the UNDP and Green Movement came forward wanting to partner with Brandix initiatives.
