[T]he 'Investments and Land' Group of the Human Rights, Economic Development and Globalization of the Sciences Po Law School Clinic has being actively investigating the duality of the legal implications of large-scale investments in farmland. This conference represents a first opportunity to convene legal experts, representatives of the civil society and legal academics to discuss large-scale investments and the double role of law. In this context, the Clinic will be presenting its report on the legal implications of Herakles Farms' oil palm investment in Cameroon, which is part of a broader campaign in support of local communities and activists.
