[PDF] Rapid Assessment of Trafficking in Children for Labour and Sexual Exploitation in Romania

This present survey provides information on the trafficking of children in Romania. It covers both external (cross-border) and internal (domestic) trafficking and includes children trafficked for labour and sexual exploitation. The authorities working to dismantle trafficking networks in Eastern and Southern Europe are confronted not only with trafficking for sexual purposes but also trafficking of children into other types of exploitation such as begging, stealing and drug peddling. In recent years another serious problem that has arisen is that of parents who exploit their own children and force them to perform different types of illegal activities either in their own country or abroad.
