[A] research, which focuses mainly on the living and working conditions of female migrant workers, was...published...by the All-China Women’s Federation (ACWF), [named] Survey of 1,000 Female Migrant Workers in Urban Areas... Some of the major findings [related to human rights] are presented below: ...Marital status: 87.3% of [female workers with children] meet their children one or twice per year... Quality of living: 56.2% of interviewees enjoy the benefits of meals and accommodation provided by employers, but 26.9% of them get neither... Most of the interviewees share rooms with others... 3.7% of them share rooms with more than 10 people and the average living area per person is less than 2 square metres... Working hours: Working overtime is a serious issue for female migrant workers. [64.8%] of female migrant workers work 9 – 1[1] hours per day...Only 34.2% of interviewees have four paid holidays per month, and most of them do not get one day off per week as legally required... Social Insurance: 51% of interviewees said that they were discriminated against by their employers when pregnant... Violation of labour rights: Most interviewees said they have not faced violation of their labour rights. However...2.1% of them said they were sexually harassed in the workplace.
