[PDF] Tourism and Peacebuilding in Rwanda

This study analyzes the commitment of tourism enterprises to peace efforts based on the assumption that it should be in the interest of these companies to help resolve conflicts in tourist destinations...One of the case studies focuses on the role which tourism actors have played in Rwanda...Since the end of the conflict, tourism companies have been making an indirect but substantial contribution to peacebuilding and post-conflict reconstruction. They have been contributing to job creation and income generation, thus improving the standard of living of the local population.
