Peru: International civil society warns about irregularities and illegalities in the penal process against 19 co-proprietors against Las Bambas mining companies

To determine the actions referred to 19 community members and social leaders from Cotabambas that have denounced the negative impacts in their rural livelihoods by Las Bambas mining company (part of MMG, part of China Minmetals), the Observatorio para la Protección de Defensores de Derechos Humanos (the Observatory for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders) drafted a report based on a field mission to the territory, asking the Peruvian justice and other state bodies to resolve the causes of the conflict, instead of criminalizing these persons.
