PESTICIDES: $200M Needed For Obsolete Stocks Destruction -- OAU Report

Almost $200 million is needed to remove and destroy obsolete pesticides in Africa, the secretary general of the Organization of African Unity said this week in a report to an OAU Council of Ministers meeting....an international interagency steering committee, made up of pesticide industry representatives and governmental and international organizations, including U.N. agencies and the OAU, has been formed to develop a project proposal to relocate the African stockpiles to European facilities for destruction.
