Philippines: Commission on Human Rights reminds security forces to observe maximum tolerance in workers' protests

"On the violent dispersal during the NutriAsia factory protest," 15 June 2018

The Commission is concerned with how the workers' protest at the NutriAsia factory ended in a violent dispersal. We continue to remind our security forces to observe maximum tolerance in these instances, mindful of the need to protect the rights of workers to protest, as well as in preserving peace and order. At the same time, this incident highlights the need for concerned agencies, such as DOLE, to step in towards finding an amicable resolution to the issues raised.
