About the Institute

The German Institute for Human Rights (DIMR) is Germany’s independent national human rights institution under the UN Paris Principles. It advises the government on human rights matters and promotes and protects human rights in Germany and through international organizations. It also houses the national monitoring body for the UN Convention on the Rights of Person with Disabilities. It is one of two institutions designated by the German Federal Foreign Office to co-moderate the process of developing a German National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights.

About the position

This position will support the Deputy Director of the Institute and the Institute’s Business and Human Rights team for the duration of the development of the German National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights. You will serve as a liaison between the DIMR and the Foreign Ministry, as well as the other agencies and stakeholders involved in the NAP process, and coordinate the expert hearings, workshops, and conferences held by the DIMR and its co-moderators throughout the process. You possess broad knowledge of the field of business and human rights and of German politics, and are fully fluent in English and German. The post is full time and tenable until 30 June 2016.
