Policy & Advocacy Adviser at Traidcraft

Traidcraft campaigns for justice in international trade and business. We are the UK’s leading fair trade organisation delivering a better deal for small-scale producers in over thirty countries. We have successfully campaigned for curbs on supermarket power, changes to company law and for fairer EU trade deals.

We are looking for a Policy and Advocacy Adviser to develop and deliver policy work on investment agreements and to work with our suppliers and programmes overseas to identify new issues where advocacy and campaigns will make a difference. You will put trade justice and corporate accountability issues firmly on the political and media agenda, lobby senior decision makers and commission or write compelling research on the need for change. You will support other teams at Traidcraft to develop their influencing work and will be expected to travel and build strong links with civil society movements around the world.

We seek a professional and motivated individual with significant recent experience of advocacy strategy development and delivery. You will have a sound technical understanding of trade and development issues combined with experience of influencing nationally and internationally. You will have strong analytical skills, the ability to identify and build synergies across a diverse organisation and will be able to produce top quality advocacy materials.

We are based in a small and friendly office in central London.
