Privatization of war: Montreux+5 Conference

The Montreux+5 Conference will be an opportunity for States and international organizations to share experiences on regulating private military and security companies and look at how to promote the Montreux document on the operations of such companies during armed conflict...The Montreux Document is an intergovernmental document finalized in 2008 and intended to promote compliance with international humanitarian law and human rights law whenever private military and security companies are present in armed conflicts. Montreux+5 Conference is an event organised jointly by the Swiss Government and the ICRC, in cooperation with the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF).
