PTSD victim wins suit against Pepsi [USA]

The makers of Pepsi-Cola will pay $120,000 to settle a discrimination claim by a delivery driver in Hayward who was fired after going on sick leave because of post-traumatic stress disorder, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said...Eldridge Davis...had worked for the Pepsi Bottling Group since 1996...He...had occasional panic attacks because of his disorder and suffered one while at work in July 2005. After supervisors sent him home, the EEOC said, Davis told the company he would be taking medical leave...Two weeks later, the agency said, Pepsi fired him for "job abandonment." The company denied discriminating against Davis on the basis of his disability...Pepsi did not concede any liability in the settlement, but agreed to train its staff on antidiscrimination laws, the EEOC said.
