Construction of Qatar’s Al Khor Al Bayt World Cup stadium will begin next month, it has been reported. Doha News said the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SCDL) has announced work will begin in September. Enabling works ongoing since last year, including building temporary onsite offices, internal roads and levelling out the site, have now been completed, it said. And a nearby development to house up to 2,700 construction workers, with retail and space for restaurants, is underway, the SCDL added...All World Cup projects in Qatar must comply with a dedicated workers’ charter stipulating minimum living standards. Last month, it was announced that Italian construction firm Salini Impregilo Group, in joint venture with Galfar and Cimolai, won the 770 million euro ($849 million) contract to build the World Cup stadium...
