There is currently a marked absence of gender as an area of intervention or reporting or even as a discussion point within the growing field of business and human rights. This scoping paper seeks to address this gap in analysis and action by providing an assessment of gender issues in ongoing corporate responsibility initiatives and offering some recommendations for future actions. ...Realizing Rights: The Ethical Globalization Initiative convened a small group of experts, in their personal capacity, for a full day meeting in New York on 29 June 2009 (see the end of this document for a list of experts). The experts were invited to share their views on what it might mean to integrate a gender perspective into the UN framework on Business and Human Rights introduced by [UN Special Representative John Ruggie] and unanimously endorsed by the Human Rights Council – now known as the UN “Protect, Respect and Remedy” framework.
