Rights and Accountability: The Way Ahead for Business and Human Rights

21-22 November 2011 in Berlin...The symposium aims to bring together leading actors working on business and human rights, including government officials, Parliamentarians, representatives from business, academia and NGOs. The meeting will provide an opportunity to exchange views on implementing the UN Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights in Germany and Europe...The expert meeting is designed to discuss policy approaches to implement the state duty to protect against human rights abuses by private actors. Furthermore, the conference is concentrating on effective remedies for those affected by corporate human rights abuses. Deliberations will focus on access to justice and opportunities for corporate liability.
