SEPA Lifts Ban on Two Power Companies [China]

SEPA...will...lift the ban on approving new projects for two major power companies...[,] Huaneng Group and Guodian Corporation, [which] have shut down problematic generators for environmental evaluation and launched a bid to install water recycling and desulphurization facilities in the plants...Pan Yue[, SEPA chief,] also said that progress has been made in rectifying those 82 works in the steel, power, metallurgy and chemical sectors that have seriously violated environmental protection laws.
