Shopping centers in Bulgaria declared unsafe by building inspectors

A number of shopping centers and retail stores in Bulgaria are threatened with closure over illegal superstructures, extensions, restructuring, etc. The construction works were either unauthorized, or the buildings had cracks, defects and deformations. According to reports of the Investment Planning Ministry, a recent spate of inspections at a total of 421 sites uncovered 26 breaches of the Spatial Development Act and 51 violations of sanitation and hygiene norms and fire safety rules...Bulgaria's Investment Planning Minister Ivan Danov, as cited by dnevnik.bg, noted that the municipal authorities had to order the owners of the faulty building to carry out the necessary repair works by specific deadlines.
