South Africa's 80,000 garment and textile sector workers have been guaranteed full pay for six weeks, during and after the Covid-19 lock down, in what has been described as a "groundbreaking agreement".

....President Cyril Ramaphosa announced a 21-day national lockdown to limit the coronavirus outbreak... The National Bargaining Council for the Clothing Manufacturing Industry announced that industry stakeholders had reached the deal that would see workers getting their full wages during the lockdown.
