SOCAR denied accusation on sexual harassment and sex discrimination of woman employees [Azerbaijan]

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) found itself in middle of sexual-productive “scandal”. SOCAR informs that according to results of impartial research other that the only one complaint during several years on sexual harassment no other similar facts was confirmed in SOCAR system. “If Mirvari Gahramanli and the committee on protection of oilmen’s rights she heads have any information on similar facts, if any, then they have to submit it to law enforcement authority for impartial research and punishment of guilty persons. If there are no facts, SOCAR keeps its right to apply to court to defend its business reputation” SOCAR says...SOCAR states that M.Gahramanli alleges that she has complaints from 20 women...“The complaints include that majority of responsible officers of the company keep mistress, who make use of privileges. Women, rejecting sexual harassment of some leaders, suffer pressure”- Azerbaijani (not only) media cites her statement. M.Gahramanli also states that recently frequency of cases of sexual harassment in Azerbaijani and foreign companies, specified in oil extraction increased.
