Talisman rumoured in talks with Lundin over Sudan assets

Shares of Talisman Energy Inc. rose 5.6% yesterday on speculation the Canadian oil and gas producer is in talks to sell its controversial Sudanese oil assets to Sweden-based Lundin Petroleum AB...Talisman's oil development in Sudan has been heavily criticized by church and non-governmental organizations, who say it fuels a civil war between the Muslim central government and black African, predominantly Christian or animist southerners.
