Toxic groundwater spreading [Arizona, USA]

This month, two major lawsuits were filed against corporations [Honeywell; Unidynamics-Phoenix Inc. & its parent Crane Co.] accused of stalling the cleanup of sites with groundwater contamination...Owens [Arizona Dept. of Environmental Quality Director Steve Owens] said companies such as Honeywell and Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, which was fined by federal pipeline regulators Thursday, often act like pollution is "no big deal" if the groundwater is not being pumped...There are seven federal and 20 state Superfund sites in the Phoenix area and numerous other sites damaged by pollution from defense contractors and chipmakers, dry cleaners, gas stations and agriculture.
