UK emissions trading scheme registers first deal

Britain's national emissions trading scheme, launched in mid-August as part of the government's bid to curb greenhouse gas pollution, has registered its first trade, the government said last week. In a forward deal brokered by Natsource, chemicals group Dupont sold 10,000 year 2002 greenhouse gas emissions allowances to MIECO, a unit of Japanese trading company Marubeni Corp.
