US security firm grilled about Iraq

The private security firm, Blackwater [USA's]...reclusive chief executive Erik Prince gave evidence to a [US] congressional committee about deaths of Iraqi civilians...Mr Prince faced a barrage of questions over several incidents in Iraq..., although not the most recent incident on September 16 in which 11 Iraqi civilians died... The company...has also been involved in other incidents...[including] A shooting incident in which a drunken Blackwater guard killed one of the Iraqi vice-president’s guards... The guard was fired, fined and shipped out within 36 hours. He was not charged with a crime... A Blackwater subsidiary also runs an airline, Presidential Airways, which has been implicated in the US Government's program of rendering terrorist suspects to secret prisons in Europe.
