Venezuela: Country to co-host conference for gas exporting countries with Russia

“Venezuela to Co-host with Russia OPEC Gas Summit”, 6th June 2019

…Venezuelan Vice President for the Economic Area and Minister of Industry and National Production, Tareck El Aissami, indicated his country supports and subscribes to the Russian gas development policy and vision. Therefore, as countries presiding over the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and the Organization of Gas Producers, Venezuela announces it will co-host the annual Conference of Gas Exporting Countries with Russia, Venezuelan Minister said. This will be done to join this effort fostered by Moscow and also to continue the encouragement and co-participation in this key area for the development of mankind, the Vice President stressed in a panel on energy development. Al Aissami considered necessary to continue contributing to the construction of a harmonious or balanced geopolitical energy in favor of the world's peoples and prosperity. In this regard, he considered that efforts should be strengthened and a cooperation platform should be consolidated among producer, consumer and investor countries. A clear example of this has been the OPEC and non-OPEC cooperation declaration, signed in December 2016.
