A window opened for Zimbabwe to sell its diamonds after the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KP) emerged divided last week on whether to allow Zimbabwe to export diamonds from Marange fields…[Mines Minister] Mpofu [said] that the government would certify its own diamonds and the KP monitor would be free to supervise the exports…South African-owned companies Grandwell Holdings and Core Mining are mining diamonds in a 50-50 partnership with state mining arm Zimbabwe Mining Development Corporation in Marange.
