Worker killed at Deno Gold’s Kapan mine; cause as yet unknown [Armenia]

...[A] worker was killed...in an underground mine operated by Deno Gold Mining [part of Dundee Precious Metals] in the village of Shahumyan…A special committee has been set up to investigate the incident and cause of death. The Kapan “Ecological Safety and Democracy Development” NGO will be conducting its own investigation…paying particular attention to where the accident took place since the Syunik Regional Court had halted above and below ground work on the workers’ lodgings...pointing to existing health and safety risks.
