Zale to Pay $55,000 in Bias Case [USA]

[Zale Corp] has agreed to settle a pregnancy bias discrimination lawsuit...The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission announced the settlement Thursday...The commission said it brought the lawsuit on behalf of Christina Kantarzis, a pregnant worker whose male manager...refused to promote despite her extensive experience with the company. Zale has agreed to pay Kantarzis $55,000...A representative for Zale did not immediately return a phone call Thursday to The Associated Press seeking comment.
