Zambia: Mopani Copper Mines says it has invested $200m in community projects

"Mopani invests $200m in community projects"

MOPANI Copper Mines says since 2000, the company has invested over US$200 million in various community projects under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programmes. According to Mopani Copper Mines public relations manager Cephas Sinyangwe, the mine had made achievements in uplifting the living standards of people in communities surrounding the mine. Giving an outline of Mopani’s investment in the communities, Sinyangwe said Mopani had spent US$14.5 million on the reconstruction of Central Street in Kitwe and Sabina-Mufulira road while over US$4.5 million was spent on water and sanitation in Kankoyo and Wusakile townships.
