Bench Marks Foundation says Lonmin has failed to live up to its CSR commitments for 10 years; company responds [So. Africa]

Bench Marks Foundation launched the report, 'Coping with Unsustainability: Policy Gap 7' on October 15, 2013. The report documents the findings of a study on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Mining, that uses the case of Lonmin to assess how the company has reported on its CSR over a period of 10 years. Bench Marks Foundation asserts that Lonmin has failed - throughout this period - to live up to its own social and environmental commitments and that for this reason, its licence should be suspended by South Africa's Department of Mineral Resources.
