[DOC] Gateway Terminals India response re alleged violence by contractor

...[our] investigation concluded this incident of violence was based on a personal issue between the individuals involved after a social evening at a private home...Although the reasons for this incident are based on personal matters, GTI strongly prohibits violence against its own employees and contracted employees...As AP Moller-Maersk we have signed up to the UN Global Compact... we are continuously working to ensure correct standards in the area of labour rights...We share ITF’s disappointment that it has taken so much time to solve this extremely complex legal and local labor issue. [Gateway Terminals India is a joint venture between APM Terminals and Container Corporation of India Limited. APM Terminals is a part of the AP Moller Maersk Group.]
