Facebook announces first corporate human rights policy

On 16 March 2021 Facebook launched its first ever corporate human rights policy, recognising increasing scrutiny of the tech platform's impact on human rights, and representing an important step for the company.

The policy aims to signal the company's intent to live up to its responsibilities under the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and includes details of how rights commitments will be implemented and the reporting structures to support accountability and enforcement.
