Norway: Metal co. Aurubis ends provisional deal with Nussir copper mine over risks to Indigenous Sami people's livelihoods

Aurubis, one of the world’s largest copper smelters, terminated a provisional agreement to buy raw materials from Norwegian partner Nussir after opposition from Indigenous Sami people. At issue, amongst other things, was the impact on the environment and on local reindeer populations.
