Australia: Delivery firm Foodora faces legal action for underpayment, sham contracting

The Fair Work ombudsman has initiated legal action in what could be a landmark case for gig economy workers. It is alleged that food couriers should be classed as employees, rather than independent contractors, and are therefore entitled to employee protections and payments.
