"Unpaid wages claim by Budaiya factory workers," 26 Aug 2022
Around 40 employees employed at a private factory in Budaiya are pleading to authorities for help after unpaid wages piled up.
Sources said the employees have not been paid for more than one year now and "they are in a great misery".
It is learnt that the employees, most of them Indian nationals, have filed a complaint with Labour Market Regulatory as well as Indian Embassy.
Badruddin Povaar of Pravasi Welfare, a charity organisation for expatriates, said the situation of the workers is pathetic and requires immediate attention from the part of the authorities.
"We are supplying medicines to some of them who are unwell and are hopeful their their ideal will end soon," he told the Daily Tribune.
