Japan: NGOs urge Japanese mega-banks to stop funding coal projects, banks respond

Four Japanese environmental organisations, 350.org Japan, FOE Japan, Greenpeace Japan, and the Japan Center for a Sustainable Environment and Society, urged the three Japanese mega-banks (Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group, Mitusbishi UFJ Financial Group, and Mizuho Financial Group) to, inter alia, stop funding coal fired power plants and other coal related projects. All three mega-banks responded.
