Myanmar: China state-owned NORINCO and subsidiary reportedly transfer arms and military technology to the junta; incl. companies' non-response

In a newly published statement, CSO Justice For Myanmar (JFM) said that newly released photos of seized weapons crates confirmed ongoing supply of arms and military technology to Myanmar’s junta under a 2017 contract by the Chinese state-owned arms producer China North Industries Group Corporation Limited (NORINCO). The statement further quoted a 2023 UN report which found NORINCO's subsidiary, China Wanbao Engineering Corporation, to have directly supplied the junta with US $5–10 million worth of goods from February 2021 to December 2022.

The Business Human Rights Resource Centre invited NORINCO and China Wanbao Engineering Corporation for response. They did not respond.
