TikTok user reportedly blocked after posting video about China's detention camps

A 17-year-old Tiktok user claimed that her account has been suspended after posting a video accusing China of putting Muslims into detention camps on the social platform.

The video appears to be sharing beauty tips at the beginning, but the teenage user later asked viewers to search up how China is putting Muslims into “concentration camps”.

A TikTok spokesperson said the company “does not moderate content due to political sensitivities”. A spokesperson at ByteDance, TikTok’s owner, said the teenage user had been blocked because she used an old account to post a video that violated TikTok’s policies against terrorist content.

There has been a widespread fear about TikTok, that its owner ByteDance censors politically sensitive content.
