Anglo American response regarding the IBASE-PWYP report

...First of all, I would like to emphasize that we highly value the engagement and opportunity to respond provided by the Business & Human Rights Resource Center to Anglo American. We believe that transparency and dialogue are the best form of communication between parties.

Regarding the comments on the new report by the NGO IBASE (Brazilian Institute of Social and Economic Analysis) and the global transparency coalition Publish What You Pay, I inform that we had a deep involvement in the process, having several engagements with PWYP, always aiming to contribute to the development of the report in the most effective and transparent way.

Finally, according to the Anglo American position letter sent to the NGO (attached) and included as a footnote in the report, we would like to emphasize that a significant amount of our contributions was not effectively reflected in the final report, a fact that, in our opinion, compromised the understanding and perception of our positions...
