To mark International Migrants Day 2021, Human Rights Watch have published a Q&A document that sets out their position, research and data in answer to key questions regarding the "failure" of Qatar and FIFA to protect migrant workers in the World Cup host country.

The answers address queries over: the reported dismantling of the Kafala system; figures regarding worker deaths in Qatar; worker wages; job mobility and workers' freedom of movement; the role of stakeholders including FIFA, World Cup sponsors and football associations; and, the legacy of the World Cup for migrant workers.
