Much more than a new look

Business & Human Rights Resource Centre

The new Latest News search page allows you to find information by a multitude of different filters and parameters.

For the last 17 years, we have provided the business and human rights movement with up to date, accurate and reliable information in an accessible way. As technology has developed, and as we have grown as an organisation, that platform has evolved from a handful of simple pages, to a complex site and database of over 100,000 pages. Each step in that journey has naturally been accompanied by a fresh new look.

10 years of our website

Today marks an important point in the continued evolution of the Resource Centre. The launch of our updated digital platform is not only a new colour palette and some pictures - it is the culmination of three years consultation, testing and development work. It's a site structure that we hope will make the information we curate and our own reports easier to find, and it's brand new ways of collating data (such as our company dashboards) that we hope will help you advocate for change. Not everything is perfect yet, but we will continue to make tweaks and add new content over the coming weeks.

Perhaps most importantly however, this sixth (yes, sixth!) version of our platform represents a change in how we will work going forward. It's the beginning of a nimbler, collaborative approach to expanding the Resource Centre in ways that serve the needs of those who use it. Hopefully you saw the fruits of this approach in May, when we were able to react to one of the most pressing issues impacting workers right now, with the launch of our COVID-19 Tracker. We aim to continue improving the site that you see today over the months and years ahead, in response to your feedback and the rapidly change context in which we must advance human rights in business.

Of course, such changes come only with substantial investment of time, expertise, and funds, and we're forever grateful to allies and funders for your help there too! We hope you like the changes that have been made, and that they support you to continue to fight for greater accountability among companies for their human rights impacts.
