Mitie response re- alleged contract linked to border security & English Channel crossings

Mitie has several contracts with the Home Office to manage short-term holding facilities and provide escorting services for migrants both in the UK and abroad. We are not responsible for setting immigration policy.

Our highly trained and professional team is focused on prioritising the safety and wellbeing of those persons in our care, treating them with dignity and respect.

The services we provide are based on the current best practice for Immigration Removal Centres, in line with Home Office guidance, and we are subject to regular reviews and inspections (both scheduled and unannounced) by both the Home Office and His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Prisons, which acknowledge the compassion of our colleagues.
