Regarding the environmental concerns raised in the recent NGO report about the Raja Ampat Islands, where nickel mining is said to cause environmental damage, we have verified with our procurement department. We confirm that the nickel raw materials used in our Indonesian projects do not originate from the Raja Ampat Islands.

The report also mentions the “Youshan Nickel Indonesia”. We would like to clarify that this project, due to a strategic adjustment, has been fully transferred through market transactions and is no longer part of Huayou's assets. Therefore, we are unable to determine whether the supply chain of the Youshan Project currently involves nickel from Raja Ampat.

Currently, Huayou operates two front-end nickel smelting projects in Indonesia—Huayue and Huafei. Both projects have passed the Responsible Mining Initiative (RMI) Responsible Mining Assurance Process (RMAP) audit. [...]
