Argentina: +100 workers at shoe factory laid off after brands reduce orders following import restrictions; incl. co. responses

In February 2025, it was reported that 134 workers were laid off at the Bicontinentar plant in Chivilcoy by the end of November 2024, and were not being paid their full severance as per the agreement they signed regarding workers' severance payments. Workers were reportedly laid off as the factory faced import restrictions and a decline in orders from buyers.

In July 2025, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Under Armour, New Balance, Diadora, Olympikus, Montagne, Le Coq Sportif. Hush Puppies, Ringo and Athix to respond. The responses and non-responses can be found below.
