Dem. Rep. of Congo: Conflicts over land rights in connection with DEG palm oil project intensify; incl. co response

Human rights organisations FIAN and urgewald are calling on German investment corporation DEG to clarify circumstances under which land use agreements for a palm oil project in the Democratic Republic of Congo were obtained. According to local NGOs, community representatives were forced to sign agreements and now fear returning to their villages. The full allegations are available in German here.
